Hi, my name is Brianna Hegel, founder and owner of New Age Pet Care. I am originally from Northern Virginia, and I spent some time in Tennessee before moving to the beautiful New River Valley. My husband & I live in Riner, VA.
Pets have always been my passion; I started in-home pet sitting in high school for neighbors and friends in my community. When I moved to Tennessee I worked at a dog boarding facility. Since moving to the NRV, I've continued to work in pet care.
I'm beyond excited to have started and grown my own service that is dedicated to exceptional pet care AND friendly customer service and communication. My promise to all my clients is to treat their pets like my own and give them all the love & compassion they deserve.
I have experience with pretty much any companion/farm animal you can name (from horses to spiders). Currently my own furry/feathery gang consists of; 4 dogs, 4 cats, a ferret, and a few chickens!
I have always been a dog person, and reactive dogs have a special place in my heart. My rescue dog, Millie, has struggled with reactivity and aggression issues since I got her. We worked with a fear-free trainer for 8 months, and learned a whole lot! I understand the time that it takes to work with these kinds of animals and I also know the stress of finding the right care for them. I would love to meet and work with your reactive/anxious dog!
I graduated from New River Valley Community College in Spring 2023 with a Business Administration A.A.S. degree. I combine everything that I have learned from business school, personal experience, and 10 years of pet care experience to provide the best possible service for my clients.

Hello! My name is Madelyn Ritter and I would love to share a little bit about who I am. I grew up in Riner, VA where I attended Auburn High School. After much consideration and thought I decided to peruse my original childhood dream of joining the Air Force in hopes of becoming apart of security forces. Throughout my military experience I grew as a person and learned and experienced more than I ever thought possible. The military helped shape me into who I am today, as I discovered my true calling was to support the community and provide love and comfort to the people around me. After I returned, I began focusing on a way to combine my dreams and goals in a way that would be most fulfilling to me, which is when I came across New Age Pet Care. Helping animals throughout my life has always been a very strong love of mine. I have been blessed enough to be able to focus on animals as my main career now and provide my entire heart to this greater cause. I'm looking forward to providing my care to the pet owners in my area by giving them the comfort of knowing that, with me, their pets are my number one priority and will not only receive the best care, but the love and attention they need to thrive and be happy. I’m looking forward to this amazing journey and can’t wait to get to know all the different faces within the community. Thank you!

Hi! My name is Abby Krause, and I’m very excited to be joining the New Age Pet Care team. I am a junior at Virginia Tech studying Animal and Poultry Sciences, with a focus on companion animal behavior and welfare. I have plenty of animal care experience, ranging from interning at a wildlife rehabilitation center to veterinary clinic work, as well as volunteering at the Montgomery County animal shelter. I have also taken a university course on dog training, and I am certified in cat and dog CPR & First Aid by the American Red Cross. I’m passionate about providing fear-free and attentive care to every animal I meet, and I look forward to getting to know your pets!
